Reality Heist

Instant5 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

Card advantage priced against your board. Seven mana for an instant that only refills your hand with two artifacts would be an embarrassment at face value, but affinity turns that number into fiction: in an artifact-dense deck the real price is a fraction of it, and the spell rewards you for already having committed to the battlefield before you cast it. That inverted cost curve is the interesting part. The dig looks at seven and keeps the two best artifacts among them, so it is not a raw draw spell but a filter that reads your deck's density back to you: the more artifacts you run to make it cheap, the more likely the top seven hands you something worth keeping. The random bottoming clause is the quiet tax, cutting off any second look at the cards you passed. It earns its slot as late-game insurance that gets cheaper exactly as the board state that would make you want it (a wide field of artifacts) develops. Cast on an empty board it is a trap; cast when you are already ahead it becomes a near-free reload at instant speed, held up through a turn cycle and deployed only when the mana would otherwise sit idle.
