Artifact Creature — Wall1 generic mana

A standard Defender body waits and lets you choose, combat by combat, whether to interpose; the compulsory-block clause here strips that option away. As long as it can legally block, it must, throwing itself into every combat step whether the trade favors you or not. The choice you keep is narrower than it looks: a single 2/1 can only block one creature, so you still decide which attacker it stands in front of, but you no longer decide whether it stands at all. Against a wide board that obligation thins out, since one body answers only one threat regardless of how the rest connect. That rigidity is deliberate. The card is built to be predictable, a partial blocking decision locked in before the combat step rather than weighed during it. The artifact type is the quieter half of the design. A colorless one-drop that reads as a defensive body but functions as cheap permanent count: it lifts the artifact total that affinity-style cards reward, it answers artifact tutors, and it feeds engines that want artifacts on the battlefield or in the graveyard. So the wall is less a survival tool than a colorless artifact body that happens to defend, with the forced-block clause as the price paid for that low rate. It sits at the far end of the combat-math spectrum, where blocking is a standing instruction instead of a read.
