Rat Colony

Creature — Rat1 generic manaBlack mana

The "a deck can have any number of cards named X" template has several members, and this is one built for speed rather than attrition. Relentless Rats grows in both directions, stacking power and toughness across every copy so a full board becomes a wall of scaling bodies that survives sweepers as often as it dies to them. This one keeps only the +1/+0 half and pins its whole value to power. The 2/1 frame is the tell: each copy hits harder than its predecessor at any given board count but keeps the single point of toughness that leaves the swarm allergic to any red one-drop, any incidental ping, any two-toughness blocker willing to trade up. That shift changes the deck's clock and its fragility at once. The self-scaling clause is what elevates it from a curve-filler with a static buff into an archetype unto itself, because the deckbuilding rule turns "run four" into "run as many as you can fit," and nothing else competes for that slot once you commit. The payoff is a race: an army that assembles quickly and swings for lethal numbers early, at the cost of folding to a single well-timed board wipe. It is a deliberate second engine for the same gimmick, reward calibrated for aggression where the older card rewarded grind.
