Near the top of the Rebel chain's tutor ladder, a flying body that doubles as the engine fetching the format's biggest links. The mechanic works as a self-assembling search: each Rebel's activated ability finds a permanent of slightly higher mana value and puts it straight onto the battlefield, so a single cheap searcher snowballs into the deck's heaviest threats. What separates this model from a conventional library search is that the creatures arrive on the battlefield directly, sidestepping the draw step and any cast cost beyond the activation. The search ability is the casting, which made the chain unusually resistant to disruption aimed at the stack or the hand: opponents had to answer bodies, not spells. The seven-mana activation is what keeps the payoff from arriving early. You spend the prior turns building out the smaller links, so the bigger fetches land only after a real investment of time and board presence. The tap requirement adds its own cost, since searching means the flier sits out a turn of attacking. As one of the larger fliers a Rebel deck could field without committing a hard cast, it served both as a finisher in its own right and as the bridge to whatever heavier permanent sat above it on the curve.
