Rally the Peasants
The +2/+0 anthem at instant speed reads as a simple combat trick, but the split between casting cost and flashback cost is what gives the card its real architecture. It asks for white to cast and red to bring back, so a deck wants both colors not as fixing for a single spell but as a structural commitment to two waves of damage out of one card. That two-pump design answers a problem token-and-go-wide aggro has always faced: a lone anthem effect dies to one sweeper and the deck is suddenly empty-handed. By stranding half the payload in the graveyard, the second swing outlasts the first board wipe, waiting on red mana to fire again. The instant speed compounds the doubling rather than just garnishing it: holding the spell lets a swarm provoke a trade or a defensive block, then push the extra power through after the opponent has committed bodies to the math. It is a finisher dressed as a trick, built for boards wide enough that +2/+0 across the team is lethal instead of incremental. The width requirement is the honest cost: against an empty board it accomplishes nothing, so the card earns its slot only in a deck already drowning the field in attackers.
