Discover is the thread that ties this whole design together, and this is where the mechanic stops being incidental value and becomes a payoff engine in its own right. The triggered ability turns every cast-from-exile into a two-point drain, and discover manufactures those casts on demand: the -3 fires off a Discover 4 that immediately triggers the drain when you cast what it finds, while the ultimate rips a fistful of cards out of your graveyard and funds them with red mana so you can chain several exile-casts in a single turn. That feedback loop is the point. Loyalty ticks upward too, with a +1 that lands a 3/2 body and quietly grows a board while you set up. The precise bit is that the drain keys on casting from exile specifically, so it rewards a broad but exact resource: discover feeds it, but so does anything that puts a card in exile and tells you to cast it, from cascade to foretell to the tail end of a suspend counter, all of which cast from exile and all of which pull the trigger. It does the unglamorous work of converting card advantage into life-total pressure without needing a single attacker to connect. The triggered drain is what elevates a strong toolbox walker into something that can close a game outright, one exiled spell at a time.
