Quiet Purity

Instant — ArcaneWhite mana

Disenchant's white half, sawn in two. For most of the game's history, white's catch-all answer cost two and split its attention across both artifacts and enchantments; this strips the artifact clause, keeps only the enchantment half, and drops the price to a single mana. That trade is the whole pitch. Being an Arcane instant is the wrinkle that justifies the discount: it works as splice fodder and it triggers everything keyed to that subtype, so a cantrip-less rate that looks bare in isolation pays its way inside the right shell. As naked enchantment removal it is strictly narrower than its broader cousins, and that narrowing is precisely the discount: a single-purpose answer at instant speed for as little as white can charge. The lineage here is a long one. White has always paid a premium to keep its disenchant effects flexible, and the recurring design question is what happens when you let a card surrender the artifact half to buy back the mana. Quiet Purity answers it about as frankly as the question can be answered: no upside, no hedge, just the enchantment-destruction blade of a Swiss Army knife sold separately at the floor price.
