Pulse of Murasa

Instant2 generic manaGreen mana

Six life is the number that lifts this above the pack of cheap lifegain stopgaps: it genuinely bends a race, buying back a full turn against aggression, and it comes stapled to graveyard recursion rather than sitting on a card that does nothing but stall. The design's real elegance is that both halves fire from a single resolution, so you are never choosing between the life and the recursion; you get both, always, and the recursion is what earns its keep. Return a fetchland that already found its mana, or a dual you cracked for value, and the six life rides along on a card you wanted back anyway. Instant speed is what makes the timing sharp: it recovers a creature the moment after a removal spell resolves it into the bin, or snatches a target back in response to graveyard hate trying to exile it. (It cannot save a creature mid-removal; while the removal spell is still on the stack the creature sits on the battlefield, not yet a legal target in a graveyard.) The target clause is broader than it first reads, too: creature or land, your graveyard or an opponent's, which keeps it live against decks that lean on their own bins for value. None of this is loud, but wedding a life swing that actually changes a clock to a recursion that recovers spent resources gives the card a wider home than either function would earn standing alone.
