Psychotic Fury

Instant1 generic manaRed mana

The target restriction is the entire pitch. Locking the double-strike grant to a multicolored creature ties the spell to a gold-heavy shell, where doubling the clock on something already wearing a sizable body turns a combat math problem into a lethal swing. A general "target creature gains double strike, draw a card" at this cost would be a staple in any aggressive deck; gating it behind multicolor confines it to builds anchored on a single color pair or wedge, where the gold threats the spell wants are the same creatures the deck already plays. The cantrip is the design tax that pays back the conditionality: when the trick connects, you get the doubled damage and a replacement card in the same breath, so the spell never costs you a card even on a turn it only nudges the race. What the cantrip cannot do is rescue a dead draw. Because the spell needs a legal multicolored target just to be cast, a hand with no gold creature on the battlefield holds it as a brick; the card-draw happens only on resolution, so it offers no escape hatch when there is nothing to point it at. That tradeoff defines the card: a tightly scoped combat trick available only to decks already invested in multicolor, repaying that investment with a doubled threat and a card.
