Propagator Drone
Evolve was built to reward a curve: play your creatures small to large, and each new arrival that outsizes an evolve creature stamps a counter on it. Handing that keyword to your tokens instead of your permanent bodies flips which half of the board is doing the growing. Every Eldrazi Spawn this makes, every insect, thopter, or soldier you cast a spell to produce becomes a counter magnet, and because Spawn tokens enter as 0/1s, almost any real creature you deploy afterward triggers them. The result is a token payoff that doesn't care about a specific tribe or a static anthem: it cares about sequencing, about landing the small stuff before the big stuff. The activated ability closes the loop by manufacturing the fodder itself, turning green mana into a stream of 0/1 bodies that can either grow under the evolve umbrella or cash themselves in for colorless mana toward the next Eldrazi. That the whole engine sits inside a devoid 2/2 is the quiet part of the design: a card with green in its mana cost that produces colorless tokens and reads as colorless itself, threading Eldrazi flavor through a mechanic that has never had anything to do with the void. It asks for a board that keeps refilling from the bottom, a go-wide plan that once wanted an anthem to matter and now, more narrowly, wants counters instead.
