Prodigy's Prototype
Vehicles have always carried a hidden tax: the crew cost sits idle before the attack, and every creature you tap to animate the ship is a creature that cannot swing itself. This design answers that tax by paying it back. Each attack spins off a Pilot token whose crew power counts as three rather than one, which means the very act of attacking generates the fuel to keep attacking, and a single token can turn on a Vehicle that would otherwise demand a real body. The recursion is the point: a board of Vehicles becomes self-crewing, the Pilots pooling to animate ships that would sit inert in most decks. The 3/4 frame with crew 2 keeps it cheap enough to lead the curve while still being a competent attacker on its own once a token or two shows up. The 1/1 tokens also matter off the ship, feeding anything that wants small colorless bodies to convoke, sacrifice, or tap. What makes it a genuine engine rather than a rate creature is that the trigger keys off any Vehicle attacking, not just this one: build wide with a fleet and the Pilot count snowballs each combat, until the crew requirement stops being a cost and becomes a resource you are actively generating faster than you can spend it.
