Birthing Pod stapled to a legendary body, and the change from artifact to creature is the whole design shift. Where the original engine ran independent of the board and asked only for mana and creatures to eat, this version puts the toolbox on a 2/4 that can be killed or countered before it ever activates, and that answers to any removal a Pod would have ignored. The math is identical to its predecessor: sacrifice something, land a creature one mana value higher, climb the curve one rung at a time until you tutor up the piece that ends the game. The sorcery-speed clause is the leash, forcing the whole toolbox to be sequenced when you have priority and denying the end-step ambush that would make it oppressive. The color pair is what pulls it off the Pod reskin: the Simic printing turned a colorless combo enabler into a green-blue value creature. It enters the chain of creatures it fetches rather than sitting outside it, and it comes attached to a shell that can protect, blink, and reload the engine. That reframing changes what the card is for. Where the artifact was a dedicated combo piece that did nothing on defense, this one is a 2/4 blocker you can ramp behind and cast on curve, holding the sacrifice line in reserve until the board and the graveyard are ready to reward it.
