Primal Vigor
Doubling effects are usually a private toy: Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, and Hardened Scales each multiply your own tokens or counters and stop at the table's edge. This one does not. The omission of "you control" is the entire design: it doubles tokens and +1/+1 counters for everyone, friend and enemy alike, turning a personal accelerant into a shared one. That symmetry is a genuine concession, and it is the reason this design exists at all. Measured against Doubling Season, its natural point of comparison, it is a strict downgrade on paper: it sits at the same five mana and asks for the same single green pip, but Doubling Season keeps its multiplier private and doubles every kind of counter, where this one hands its multiplier to the whole board and confines its counter half to +1/+1s. Broader ownership and narrower coverage, both cutting the wrong way. The compensation has to come from your deck, not the card: you build to weaponize the multiplied output (a token engine already resolved, a counters payoff already online) so the free upgrade you gift your opponents arrives too late to matter. It is the rare doubler that rewards existing board presence over a slow build-around, because the instant it resolves the multiplier is live for whoever creates the next token, and the whole point is to make sure that is you.
