Pongify
One blue mana destroys any creature: a price that low has to be paid for somewhere, and here the cost is handed to your opponent in the form of a 3/3 token. The drawback is real but inverted from how removal usually works. You are not trading down on rate; you are downgrading whatever you hit (a fifteen-power threat, a value-engine commander, a creature wearing every aura they own) into a vanilla beater that any subsequent removal handles cleanly. The body it leaves behind is the variable that decides whether the card is a steal or a wash: against a Voltron general the math is lopsided in your favor, against a 2/2 it is close to even. What keeps the structure durable is the "can't be regenerated" rider plus the bluntness of "destroy target creature" with no further qualifier: no toughness ceiling, no creature-type restriction. It still reads the target line like everything else (a hexproof creature shrugs it off), but inside that constraint it answers the kind of permanent blue normally cannot touch, at the speed blue demands, while asking only a single card off the top. Rapid Hybridization runs the same engine and hands back a token of identical size; the two have long circled each other as the cheapest unconditional creature kill blue has ever had. The token is the tax blue pays for stepping outside its lane, and most of the time it is a tax you are happy to collect.
