Plague Boiler

A board wipe on a timer, and the timer is the whole negotiation, though the only person at the table holding the dial is you. The default clock is fixed: a plague counter every upkeep of yours, then a forced sacrifice and the destruction of every nonland permanent the turn the third counter lands. What makes this more than a slow Nevinyrral's Disk is the activated ability, which lets you run the count in either direction. You can speed it up to detonate on your terms, ramping it to three counters ahead of the natural cadence, or stall it indefinitely by peeling counters back off, holding the wipe over the table like a fuse you refuse to light. The friction is the cost and the fact that the artifact is sacrificed in its own explosion, so the answer is always one-shot and always announced in advance. Everyone watching the upkeep counter climb knows the wipe is coming and roughly when, which turns the threat of mass removal into a public clock the rest of the table has to plan around: race it down before the third counter, or assemble a faster board than you can afford to nuke. It is the rare wrath that asks its controller not whether to reset the board, but exactly which turn to do it on, and it bleeds that information to everyone else while it waits.
