Phyrexian Splicer

Most keyword-granting cards manufacture an ability from nothing. This one refuses to: its activation strips flying, first strike, trample, or shadow from one creature and reattaches it to another, a verb almost nothing else in the game uses. That makes it less a buff engine than a combat-math wrench. Take an attacker's evasion and bolt it onto a blocker; pull trample off a finisher so a chump block sticks; relocate shadow so an otherwise unanswerable creature suddenly faces opposition. The presence of shadow on the list pins the design to its origin, where that keyword's rigid, all-or-nothing evasion made the steal-and-redistribute trick genuinely swingy inside a single damage step. The activation costs two mana plus the tap and works at instant speed, which is what lets it ambush a declared attack, but the requirement that a valid donor already carry the chosen ability is the leash on the whole thing: the card cannot conjure keywords, only reroute what is already on the board. That dependency is also why it never settled anywhere outside the narrow window where its four target abilities ran dense enough to matter. It is a sharp piece of design vocabulary, a colorless answer to evasion that doubles as an enabler, but its ceiling is dictated entirely by what the rest of the table happens to be running.
