Phyrexian Furnace

Artifact1 generic mana

The split design is the whole pitch, and it solves the oldest problem with narrow graveyard hate: doing nothing when there's nothing to hate. The tap ability is a slow, repeatable drip that nibbles one card off the bottom of a graveyard each turn, grinding a recursion engine down over a long game. The sacrifice mode does the opposite job: it hits any single card you actually fear and refunds itself with a draw, so the artifact replaces itself the moment it has a target worth answering. That second clause is what keeps the card from ever becoming dead weight; its floor is "cash it for a card," not "this slot did nothing." The two abilities pull against each other, which is the small puzzle the card poses on every turn it sits in play: keep it down as a board fixture to suffocate a slow graveyard engine, or cash it in for one high-value exile plus the replacement draw. The targeting is unusually generous, too, reaching any graveyard rather than only an opponent's, so it can clear your own bin when something there has turned into a liability. A modest, self-replacing piece of incidental graveyard interaction, built so the worst outcome is a cantrip and the best is steady suffocation, with a sacrifice mode that earns it a slot even when the graveyard never matters at all.
