Phyrexian Denouncer

Creature — Phyrexian Carrier1 generic manaBlack mana

The trade is the whole pitch: a body you were never planning to keep for a removal effect you can hold until exactly the right combat or the right -1/-1 lands. As a Phyrexian Carrier, it slots into the Urza-block obsession with creatures whose deaths are the point rather than the cost, and the sacrifice clause folds two payments into one. You spend the tap and the body to shrink something to zero, which means the card answers a one-toughness creature for free relative to what you wanted to do anyway, and chips a point off something larger when you need to push damage through or finish off a wounded blocker. The -1/-1 until end of turn is the load-bearing restriction: it kills the fragile outright but only nudges the durable, so the card rewards precise timing over raw reach. It is a one-shot effect, not an engine; the sacrifice consumes the creature, so the value comes from choosing the single most important moment to cash it in rather than grinding the same effect every turn. For decks that count creature deaths, that single sacrifice still pulls double duty, feeding a death trigger on the way out while doing something useful on its own. The body itself is incidental; you are paying for a stored shrink effect that sits on the battlefield until the board state asks for it.
