Pheres-Band Warchief
The lord template applied to a tribe that barely existed. Centaurs have never had the numbers to anchor a deck the way Goblins or Elves do, so this is a tribal payoff in search of a tribe: a 3/3 with vigilance and trample that hands every other Centaur you control the same keyword pair plus a stat bump. The interesting part is what it grants rather than what it costs. Vigilance and trample together turn a board of green midrange bodies into attackers that don't surrender the back rank, which is exactly the profile a wide green deck wants and exactly the keyword combination green hands out least often at the lord level. Where most tribal lords stack raw power, this one stacks a combat posture: attack with everything and still hold the fort, then push the leftover damage through chump blockers. The catch is the structural one narrow lords carry: its anthem and its keyword grant only reach Centaurs, and the pool of Centaurs worth running has always been thin, so the card spends most of its text on a creature type that rarely fields a critical mass. Outside a dedicated Centaur build it is a 3/3 for four with two useful keywords and no one else to buff; inside one, it is the closest thing the type has to a finisher.
