Pendelhaven Elder

A lord that only ever wanted one thing: an army of small bodies that all happen to share the exact stat line it was built to pump. Tapping it gives every 1/1 you control +1/+2 until end of turn, which makes it a payoff in search of a board state. Saproling makers, Goblin token spells, Squirrel and Soldier producers: any deck that floods the table with identical dorks turns the Elder into a one-card combat-math rewrite, swinging a swarm of 2/3s where there had been a row of nothings. The +1/+2 split is the telling number. The extra toughness is what keeps the team alive through a board sweep of the "deal 1 to each creature" variety, and it lets the buffed creatures trade up rather than just trade. The catch is how narrow the ability is: it cares about 1/1s and nothing else, so any creature that grows past a single power or arrives larger is invisible to it, and a lone activation does nothing without a board already built. That dependency is the whole design. It is not a standalone threat but a multiplier, a Shaman that converts quantity into reach only in the decks that have already solved the quantity problem on their own.
