What this trades is the variance of the top of your library for the certainty of seven cards you chose. Once it resolves you have a private, shuffled pile of selected answers, and every draw becomes a choice: take the unknown top of your deck, or reach into the curated stack instead. The catch is exactly what makes the design tense: those seven cards are gone from your library the moment this resolves, so it thins your deck while committing you to a fixed sequence you no longer control (the pile is shuffled, not stacked). You are not building a draw engine so much as pre-paying for relevance, betting that seven hand-picked cards will outvalue seven random ones over the length of a game. The fantasy is enormous (load the pile with your win conditions and removal, then ignore your real deck entirely) but five mana for an enchantment that does nothing the turn it lands, generates no immediate advantage, and can whiff if your pile and your situation diverge, asks more patience than most decks can spare. It belongs to that small family of card-selection enchantments that fascinate builders far more than they reward them, where the engine's elegance on paper rarely survives contact with a clock.
