Owlbear

Creature — Bird Bear3 generic manaGreen manaGreen mana

A body that pays for its own card slot. The green midrange playbook has long paired a fair creature with an enters-the-battlefield draw so the card is never a blank even when the beatdown stalls, and this is that pattern rendered at its plainest: a 4/4 with trample that replaces itself the moment it lands. The Keen Senses trigger is what matters more than the stats, because it turns the creature into a floor as much as a threat. Trade it away, chump-block with it, or lose it to a sweeper, and you are still up the card you drew on the way in. Green rarely gets to replace its bodies this cleanly, which is what makes the design read as generous rather than pushed: the effect is honest card advantage stapled to a body sized to attack and block without embarrassment, not a value engine that spirals. The Bird Bear typing is the flavor joke doing the heavy lifting (the owlbear is one of the oldest monsters in the fantasy-roleplaying bestiary), but the card underneath is a study in restraint by curve: five mana buys a threat that trades evenly and a card that keeps the hand from running dry. It asks nothing of the deck around it, which is precisely the point of a creature built to be a reliable inclusion rather than a build-around.
