Ogre Battledriver

Creature — Ogre Warrior2 generic manaRed manaRed mana

The +2/+0 buff matters less than the haste. Most go-wide payoffs reward you for the board you have built; this one rewards the creature arriving this turn, which collapses the gap between deploying a body and attacking with it. A summoning-sick token off any creature-maker hits the red zone the moment it enters, swinging for at least two on a clock the opponent could not see coming a turn early. That timing shift is the whole strategic axis: it turns a wide board into a burst of unblockable-feeling damage, and it punishes an opponent who tapped out expecting to untap and stabilize. The power bump stacks the math in your favor, but the haste is what denies the defender the turn they were counting on. The catch is that the trigger only fires on creatures entering after it resolves, so the Battledriver wants to land before the swarm, not as the payoff you cash in at the end. Its own 3/3 body for four mana is unremarkable, which is the cost of an effect that scales with every subsequent creature you can pour onto the table; the more bodies that follow, the more the rate justifies itself. It is a creature-based aggro engine that asks you to sequence your deployment around it rather than treat it as a finisher.
