The whole appeal here is that a single red mana never sits idle. Drop it early as a 1/1 when you have nothing better to do, or hold it and pay the bestow cost later to leave a permanent +1/+1 on a creature you already control, one that shrugs off the removal spell that would otherwise two-for-one an ordinary Aura. That second half is the structural payoff. Traditional Auras carry card-disadvantage risk: kill the enchanted creature and the buff dies with it. Bestow sidesteps that by letting the enchantment fall off as its own creature instead of hitting the graveyard, so a removal spell aimed at the host costs you only the +1/+1 it was lending, not the whole card. The catch is timing: with no flash, the bestow cost is sorcery-speed only, so this is a deliberate main-phase commitment, not a combat trick you ambush with. The rate is intentionally modest, the smallest body and buff in its bestow cycle, and that smallness is the point: it is the cheapest expression of the mechanic, a one-drop early and a curve-filler later, never a dead draw at either end. The Nyx-enchanted frame ties it to a run of devotion-era satyrs, but a plain 1/1 with a stapled-on pump folds to the same removal spell this one survives, and that durability is what the design is buying.
