Two enters triggers, deliberately mismatched: one wants a red sorcery, the other a blue instant, and together they hand you back two cards plus a body that is the least relevant thing on the card. That split is the design's whole personality. Most graveyard-recursion creatures of this stripe return a single card type and let you pick freely; here the two retrievals are pinned to specific colors and specific speeds, so the engine only fires for a deck that already runs cheap red removal sorceries and blue counter-or-cantrip instants. Build along any other axis and one trigger fizzles or both whiff, leaving a 4/4 for six. Build along exactly that axis and it is a clean three-for-one that rebuys the two halves of an Izzet spells-matter plan. The flexible color requirement is a quiet hedge against how brittle a two-color graveyard deck tends to be: a list can skew heavily toward one side and still afford to cast it, even though the payoff rewards running both. It belongs to a small line of Beasts whose stat line is camouflage, asking to be evaluated by what it returns rather than what it can attack into, and the asymmetry between sorcery-speed red and instant-speed blue is the constraint that keeps the recursion from being free value in any deck that happens to play spells.
