Nissa's Chosen

Creature — Elf WarriorGreen manaGreen mana

The death-replacement here is not protection in any board-state sense: a removal spell pointed at this 2/3 still gets the blocker off the table, and the opponent gets exactly the trade they paid for. What the clause actually does is deny the graveyard. The body never reaches a yard your opponent could feed on, never becomes reanimation fuel, never fills a delirium or threshold count against you, and instead tucks itself onto the bottom of your own library. The clause applies only on death, so anything that exiles, bounces, or steals it routes around the effect entirely; it redirects the creature no matter how it dies, whether to combat damage, burn, destruction, or lethal damage from any source. The same line that recovers the card also makes it actively hostile to any deck that wants its own creatures dead: no graveyard recursion, no aristocrat triggers, because it never reaches the yard for any of that to key off. And the recovery is far slower than it looks. Bottom-of-library is the opposite of a fast loop: you are not redrawing this thing soon, and in many games you never see it again at all. The text spends itself on denial, not return. It is a flavor beat (the elf bound to a planeswalker, withdrawing from the world rather than perishing) translated into a design that reads as a plain two-drop but quietly refuses to be anyone's resource, including, much of the time, your own.
