Suspend 7 is the kind of number that usually means "never," a seven-turn parole that no creature should expect to serve in time to matter. The trick is the third ability, which turns an opponent's graveyard into a clock you can race: every card that dies, mills, gets discarded, or burns up shaves a counter, so against a deck that fuels its own yard the seven-turn sentence collapses into something far shorter. It rewards reading the opposing strategy rather than your own. A self-mill or reanimator opponent does the work for you; a creature-light control deck makes you wait nearly the full count. The design ties the threat's release directly to the kind of opponent you face, which is a sharper idea than the 4/4 with Fear that finally lands ever quite delivers on. Fear is the closer, ensuring the body sneaks through past the typical green and white blockers once it arrives with haste off the suspend trigger, but the body is the payoff, not the point. The point is a permanent whose arrival time is a function of an opponent's deck rather than your own draw, a piece of conditional acceleration that few cards before or since have framed quite this way.
