Night Terrors

Sorcery2 generic manaBlack mana

Targeted discard with a permanent answer attached: instead of pitching the chosen card to a graveyard where it can be flashed back, dredged, or reanimated, this exiles it outright. That distinction is the entire point. Black has always had cheaper, harder-hitting hand disruption (Thoughtseize strips a nonland card of your choice for a single mana, and at sorcery speed all the same), but those spells feed the same yard-based recursion that midrange black decks both abuse and fear. Exile closes that loop. The price for it is the mana: three for an effect that single-black discard delivers for one. That extra two is what buys the exile clause, and against an opponent who replays cards out of the bin as readily as out of hand, it is worth paying. Strip a key piece to exile and it does not come back via a recursion spell or a self-mill payoff. The reveal also turns the spell into information as much as disruption, which matters more against a deck whose threats live in the yard than one that plays everything from hand. This is a proactive plan, deployed against a hand you have already decided is worth picking apart rather than a reactive answer held for a key moment. A narrow tool, but the niche it fills (graveyard-proof hand attack) is a real one that ordinary discard cannot cover.
