Nessian Hornbeetle

Creature — Insect1 generic manaGreen mana

The trigger here is subtler than the usual green growth engine. A cheap creature that gets bigger on your combat step is nothing new, but the gate attached (you already control another creature with at least four power) flips the design: this is not a threat that inflates on its own but a reward for a board that has already gotten big. It does nothing in the opening turns and everything once your deck has committed to a real body: a fatty, a token doubler's output, a fight-spell target that survives. The condition matches the shape of green aggro that wants to curve into something large anyway, then quietly stacks counters on a discounted Insect the opponent has been ignoring while they scramble to answer the scary thing. The tension is between the low floor and the steep, board-dependent ceiling: an isolated 2/2 that never draws the required company, versus a beetle that gains a counter every combat once your bigger threats land. That gap is the whole point. It asks you to build toward the four-power threshold, then keeps paying out once you clear it, snowballing a throwaway two-drop into a genuine clock as a bonus for the deck already doing what it wanted to do.
