Green polices the skies through reach, fight effects, and the occasional sweeper rather than through generic removal, and this card is one of the color's earliest blunt statements of that role. Four damage is set high enough to clear most evasive threats outright, while the scope (every creature with flying and nothing else) leaves the ground untouched, including your own grounded board. That selectivity is what disciplines the rate: a three-mana sorcery that scales with the opponent's board does real work only when that board is built to be hit by it, so against a flat ground stall it whiffs entirely, asking the pilot to read the matchup before committing. It carries the simplified, evergreen design language of the line it debuted in: a single line of text, a single job, no rules baggage, written for players learning the game. It is still a normal sorcery, of course, so it goes on the stack and can be answered like any other spell; the simplification is in the wording, not the rules interaction. The flavor reads cleanly off the function, a volley loosed skyward, and the card stands as a clear marker of how green was meant to answer the air: brute reach, no interaction, no subtlety.
