Necropede
A two-mana infect body that refuses to die for nothing. The defining problem with one-toughness infect creatures is that they trade down constantly: any blocker, any ping, any incidental damage wipes them out and leaves you with nothing on the poison clock. Necropede answers that fragility by converting its own death into one more -1/-1 counter, which is the same currency it deals in life. Block it and you eat a counter; the death trigger then drops another counter wherever you point it. Against other creatures that operate on the -1/-1 axis, this lets it pick off a wounded blocker or finish a creature the counter dance already left at the edge. The artifact type matters too: it slips into colorless shells and survives sweepers that target by color or creature type, and it feeds the metalcraft and sacrifice loops that grew up around that mechanic. None of this makes it a fast clock; one poison per swing is a slow grind. What it offers instead is attrition that refuses to be neutralized, a one-power body whose value is realized precisely at the moment it leaves the battlefield.
