Nearheath Stalker

Creature — Vampire Rogue4 generic manaRed mana

The math on undying is what makes a 4/1 worth printing. A four-power body that dies to any blocker would normally be a liability, but the keyword turns trading into a bargain: send it into combat, let it die without a counter, and it returns as a 5/2 that has to be answered all over again. The toughness of one is the tax. It is there precisely so the creature dies easily, which is the whole point: a 4/1 that survives never triggers undying, but a 4/1 that gets chump-blocked or sniped by a single point of damage comes right back bigger. The design leans into fragility rather than fighting it, asking you to throw the body at problems and collect the dividend on the rebound. The ceiling is honest, too: the counter that comes back is what shuts the loop off, so this is a one-time resilience trick, not a recurring threat. Pair it with a way to remove the counter or to sacrifice it on your own terms and the second life arrives whenever you want it, but on its own it is a straightforward attrition piece that asks the opponent to spend two answers where most threats cost one.
