Natural Obsolescence

Instant1 generic manaGreen mana

The choice of zone is the entire design: not the graveyard, not exile, but the bottom of the library, where the owner has to redraw their whole deck to see the artifact again. That distinction matters because most green answers in this lane smash the thing outright, leaving it in the graveyard for recursion, reconstruction triggers, or death payoffs to feed on. Bottoming instead sidesteps that ecosystem entirely. There is no body in the yard to reanimate, no death trigger to bank, and because it never targets the artifact for destruction, indestructible permanents that shrug off a Naturalize-style effect go away just as cleanly. The trade is precision for permanence. Against a single high-value permanent this is functionally exile: the owner is not finding it again in any game that ends on a reasonable turn count. Against a deck running multiple copies of the same artifact, the problem is structural rather than recoverable, since each copy is its own answer and burying one does nothing about the next. That is the honest cost of green getting unconditional instant-speed artifact interaction at two mana: it gets to dodge the recursion plan and the indestructible wall both, but only by aiming at one specific problem at a time. A clean, narrow tool for the matchup where a single artifact is the whole game and you would rather remove it without handing the opponent a second use of it.
