A toolbox tutor that staples its own second cast to the front of the search. The base spell fetches any instant or flash card to hand, which makes it the connective tissue of a control deck's answer suite: it can find a counterspell to hold up, a removal spell to deploy, or another copy of itself once the flashback cost is online. The flashback into black is the design hinge: it shifts the card from a one-shot tutor into a recurring engine, letting a deck spend dead late-game mana converting an empty hand back into the exact answer the board demands. That black cost is also the lock on the door: this is a card that pulls control out of mono-blue and asks for a second color in exchange for inevitability, the price of turning a search into a permanent feature of the late game. The instant-speed clause on both halves is what makes it more than a value spell; held open while an opponent commits to the stack, it threatens to become whatever the situation requires before passing priority back, and the flashback lets it do that a second time across a long game. It rewards a deck built almost entirely of singleton instants and flash creatures, where every fetch is a different answer and the tutor itself is never a wasted draw.
