Myr Welder

A toolbox that builds itself out of other people's spent artifacts. The imprint clause here works differently from most: instead of copying a single card's stats or casting it for an alternate cost, it exiles artifact cards from any graveyard and grants their activated abilities permanently, stacking ability after ability onto one 1/4 body. What narrows it from a generic engine is the slice of the card it can use. It inherits activated abilities only, never triggered ones, enter-the-battlefield effects, or static keywords, so it asks a deckbuilder to recognize which artifacts carry their value in a tap symbol or an activation cost rather than a body or a trigger. The food is artifacts whose buttons fire from the battlefield without a price the Welder cannot pay: mana rocks that tap for filtering, sacrifice-themselves payoffs, anything with a repeatable activation it can simply use as its own. Targeting graveyards rather than the battlefield is what lets it eat its own discarded pieces or feast on whatever an opponent has milled, sacrificed, or had killed. The body fits the engine: four toughness outlasts the small creatures that would otherwise trade with it, keeping the Welder alive long enough to keep tapping for whatever abilities it has accumulated. It is a slow, grinding machine that asks you to read artifacts not as cards but as a pile of installable activations.
