The Myr lord that doubles as their factory, built when Mirrodin's metal artifact creatures needed a payoff to bind them into a tribe rather than a pile of mana rocks. Two jobs sit in one card: it anthems every Myr in play, and it manufactures more of them five mana at a time, so a board that starts as fixing slowly stacks into an offense. Indestructibility is the part that pays for the slow rate; at five mana to make a single 1/1 token, the activated ability would be embarrassing on a fragile permanent, but a token mill that cannot be answered by Wrath effects or targeted destruction turns inevitability into the selling point. The cost has to be ground out: opponents who cannot kill the engine instead have to race the bodies it keeps printing, and against control that race is winnable precisely because the matrix outlasts every sweeper. It is a quintessential Darksteel design, a set whose whole conceit was indestructible permanents that refused to leave, and the Myr tribe was the natural beneficiary of an enchantment-like artifact that just keeps going.
