Stone Rain's reputation problem was always the dead card: a turn-three spell that did nothing but set the opponent back one land, with no board presence and nothing in return for you. The fix here is to fold ramp into the destruction. You blow up their land and pull a Forest from your library onto the battlefield in the same sorcery, which means the tempo swing runs both directions: they fall a land behind while you jump a land ahead, and the four-mana cost suddenly buys two effects instead of one. The fetched Forest arrives tapped, so the acceleration is delayed by a turn, and that delay is the restriction that stops this from being pure profit; you are committing to next turn's plan, not this one. It also quietly broadens the search, since "Forest card" reaches dual lands and Forest-typed nonbasics rather than only basics, so you are not just thinning a fixed land out of the deck but choosing which one comes down. The deeper curiosity is the archetype mismatch. Land destruction is usually a control or prison tool, the weapon of a deck happy to grind from behind. Attaching it to ramp hands the same effect to the green deck least interested in trading turns, the one that wants to be ahead on mana, not setting an opponent back. That tension turns a stock removal spell into a build-around.
