Fact or Fiction's Arcane cousin, and the version that trades flexibility for a guaranteed floor. Fact or Fiction asks the opponent to split five revealed cards into two piles, then lets you keep the pile you prefer: the swinginess lives in how unevenly those piles can be cut. This one fixes the count instead. Three cards come off the top, your opponent chooses a single one to bury, and the other two are yours, every time. There is no one-and-four split to fear, no all-the-value-in-one-pile gambit; the opponent is reduced to deciding which two you keep, never how many. The graveyard placement is the second half of the design, and the more interesting one for a yard-fueled shell: the buried card is not lost so much as relocated, feeding reanimation, recursion, or anything that mines the graveyard for fuel. Three mana at instant speed to net two cards is an aggressive rate by the standards of its day, when straight card draw still asked four mana to refill a hand: the selection tax of letting an opponent pick the discard is what pays for the discount, and the Arcane subtype let it chain into Splice spells and trigger the period's Spiritcraft engines. Read as a draw-two with a small tax, it is efficient; read as a draw-two that also seeds your graveyard with a card your opponent was forced to put there, it quietly does two jobs in one slot.
