Murmuring Bosk

Land — Forest

The Horizon Canopy of the wedge land cycle, structurally: a Forest first, a tri-land second, and the second role costs you a life every time you reach for the off-color mana. The Treefolk reveal is the load-bearing clause because it only governs the enters tapped condition, not the painful activation. Show a Treefolk and the land arrives untapped, still a Forest for free with the white-or-black option waiting; fail to show one and you pay the tempo tax of a tapped land but lose nothing about the land's ceiling. The damage is independent of how you found it: green mana is always painless, the splash colors always cost a point. That separation is the cleverer half of the design. A plain dual would have tied the drawback to the fixing; this one decouples them, so a deck dense enough in Treefolk gets a land that taps for three colors with the entry friction reading as nearly free, while a deck that just wants the fixing accepts a tapped land as the price of admission. The result is a fixing land built first for a creature-type payoff and only second for any deck willing to bleed for a third color, narrower on the surface than the three colors it actually produces.
