Murder of Crows

Creature — Bird3 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

A 4/4 flyer for five was already a fair-sized clock in its era: an evasive blocker that a control deck could land on a stable board and ride to the finish. Bolt the loot trigger onto that frame and the card stops being a body and starts being a card-quality engine. In a board state where small creatures are trading every turn (a token swarm, an aristocrats deck feeding sacrifice outlets, a grindy attrition matchup), each death offers an optional filter, smoothing your draws and stocking the graveyard for whatever recursion the deck runs on. The looting is symmetric in the sense that any other creature's death pulls the trigger, yours or your opponent's, so the card scales with how grindy the game gets rather than rewarding only your own sacrifices. The discard clause is the brake: every draw comes paired with a pitch, so this is selection, not raw card flow, and it leans toward decks that want cards in the bin (flashback, threshold, delve) as readily as decks that want fresh draws. It pays off a board built to die in increments rather than one big swing, the slow, trade-heavy game its body was sized to survive.
