Mudbrawler Raiders

Creature — Goblin Warrior2 generic manaRed or Green manaRed or Green mana

Evasion keyed to a single enemy color is one of the oldest knobs in the design toolbox, and this is the hybrid-mana take on it: a 3/3 payable entirely in red or green that simply walks past blue defenders. The restriction is its own balancing act. Against a board with no blue creatures, the ability is dead text and the card is just a vanilla beater for four. Against a blue deck, those three points arrive on schedule every turn, which is precisely the matchup where a midrange ground-pounder most wants a guaranteed clock. Letting the cost be paid in either color rather than both is the quieter cleverness here: a Goblin Warrior that slots into anything running red or green, widening the field of decks that can field a color-hosing attacker. It belongs to a tradition of cards that target one enemy color by name, the same impulse behind protection narrowed to a single hue, except handed to the two colors with the least patience for blue's stalling game. The design tells you exactly who it was built to beat, and it asks to be brought to a table where someone is leaning on Islands.
