Mu Yanling

The three-ability structure here is a study in narrow purpose. Every mode leans blue's classic obsessions in one direction: get a creature through, refill the hand, and eventually take everything over. The plus-two is the tell. Most planeswalkers protect themselves by generating a blocker, a token, a tap-down, or a life buffer; this one spends its ascending ability making an attacker unblockable, which does nothing for its own defense. That is a deliberate choice, an offensive planeswalker in a color that usually plays for the long game, and it points the card toward an aggressive shell that wants a single evasive threat pushed through turn after turn while loyalty climbs. The minus-three is the fallback for when there is no such threat: a straightforward two-card dig that costs enough loyalty to reset the ultimate clock. And the ultimate is pure blue endgame, an extra turn stapled to a mass tap-down, the kind of effect that wins on resolution rather than promising to. The design lives or dies on whether you have a creature worth making unblockable; without one, the card is a slow, expensive card-draw engine that happens to have a game-ending button eventually. With one, the plus-two is not protection but a repeatable, unstoppable beatdown, which is a far stranger and more committed thing for a six-mana blue walker to be built around.
