Here is a Dragon written in the grammar of a multicolor payoff, even though a red-heavy shell rarely earns it. The reload clause is where that mismatch shows: whenever you cast a spell, you may pitch your whole hand to draw a card for each of that spell's colors. In a mono-red list that reads one card, turning a hand-refill into a costly wheel most builds will decline rather than a genuine dig. The design is deliberately self-limiting; the reward scales with a color count a disciplined red manabase seldom produces, rewarding greed with your sources and paying out in raw volume when you commit. The death trigger runs on a related axis, but it counts colors among the permanents you control as it resolves, which is where the math bites: by then the Regent is in the graveyard and no longer contributes its own red, so a board with no other colored permanents deals zero. The honest floor for a strictly mono-red build is a 4/4 flier that, if you choose to pitch your hand when casting a subsequent spell, draws just one card, and that fizzles on death if it is your only colored permanent. The interesting version lives at three, four, five colors, where the reload becomes real card advantage and the death shot lands on a planeswalker or an opposing face. It is a rare piece of design that punishes color discipline instead of rewarding it, wearing its flying body as the baseline beneath an engine that only switches on once you spread out.
