Equipment that builds an army by attacking, which is a rarer design than the rate suggests. Most aggressive equipment rewards the creature carrying it: bigger numbers, evasion, a keyword to push damage through. This one pays out to the side of the board instead, spawning a 4/4 flier every time the equipped creature swings, so the value scales with the number of combats rather than the size of the body holding the spear. The token mints the instant attacks are declared, before damage is ever assigned, which means the carrier never has to be a credible threat in its own right: a 1/1 generates the same Angel a 6/6 does. First strike is the part that keeps the engine running across turns rather than the part that fires the trigger. It protects a fragile carrier through the combat damage step so it lives to swing again next turn, each surviving attack adding another flier to the count. The cost is the real brake: four to cast and four again to equip means eight mana before a single Angel exists, and you still need a creature that survives to a combat step to start the loop. That front-loading is why it reads as a top-end payoff rather than a tempo play, the thing you reach for once the board has stabilized and you want a recurring source of evasive bodies. The flavor lands cleanly: a blessed weapon that summons angelic reinforcements, minting allies in white's signature color and creature type.
