InstantBlue mana

Color is one of Magic's most invisible properties: protection clauses, color-hosers, color-matters triggers, and dozens of effects quietly consult the line that says a spell or permanent is red, white, or green. This is the scalpel that severs that assumption. For a single blue mana at instant speed, it strips a target down to colorless, and the worth of that act is entirely contextual. It can turn off protection's damage-prevention and color-based "can't be blocked by" clauses, blank a color-hoser keyed to one specific color, slip a creature past a Circle of Protection, or change the color of a target so your own color-keyed pump or anthem stops seeing it. It leaves power, toughness, abilities, and mana cost untouched; it edits the one trait most other cards are written to read. That makes it a precision answer rather than a value spell: close to dead in a deck that hasn't found a problem for it, surgical in one that has. Where most color-manipulation works by adding a color, this runs the operation backward and subtracts: it deletes the characteristic instead of layering onto it. The instant-speed timing is the whole point. It lets you act the moment a color matters, on the stack or mid-combat, though the change carries no duration and can also be set up ahead of time. Note what it leaves alone: because it changes only color and not the symbols in a mana cost, it never touches devotion, which keeps counting those pips on the battlefield regardless.
