Molten Tributary

Land — Island Mountain

The dual-typed tapland is the most durable compromise in fixing design: two basic land types on one card, both colors of mana, and the whole cost paid up front on the turn it enters. Because it counts as both an Island and a Mountain, it fetches with any effect that hunts a basic land type and answers to any spell that keys off those types, which is a genuine upgrade over a plain tapland that carries no subtypes at all. But the subtypes are not the supertype: this is not a basic land, so Wasteland, Back to Basics, and every other piece of nonbasic hate treats it exactly like any other dual. The land types buy fetchability, not immunity. The tempo tax is honest and unambiguous: you surrender exactly one turn of availability, and nothing about the land ever recovers it, no life payment to skip the tap, no threshold that untaps it later. That flatness is the whole design. This is fixing for decks that can absorb a slow start in exchange for never touching their life total, a trade priced the same way since the earliest cycles of type-bearing duals. What distinguishes this particular card is only the color pair it serves; the chassis is the one fixing designers reach for whenever they want mana without a hidden clause, two colors on a delay and nothing more, which is exactly why the shape keeps returning in whatever color combination a set happens to need.
