The manland's usual bargain is one fixed price: you pay a set cost to animate, and the land is either worth the risk or it isn't. This one scales the activation to your board instead. Every legendary creature and planeswalker you control shaves a mana off the cost, so a board thick with legends collapses the animation toward nothing, and the colorless-tapping land you were already running becomes a 3/3 with vigilance almost for free. The design logic runs the opposite direction of a static tax: the cost erodes precisely in the decks that want to attack and hold back a blocker at the same time, vigilance being the keyword that lets it double as an untapped body on defense. The base activation is steep by manland standards, which is the honest counterweight; strip out the legends and it's a slow finisher you'll rarely bother turning on. And because it only produces colorless mana, it never pretends to be fixing you can splash into an unrelated shell. What matters for the discount is the type line, not the card type broadly: a legendary creature token counts, and so would a legendary artifact creature, but a rank-and-file token or a nonlegendary artifact does nothing to shorten the cost. The card is aimed at go-wide legendary and superfriends shells, where the reduction turns a modest utility land into a repeatable threat that survives sweepers aimed at your creatures. It asks for that commitment up front and repays it in activation cost rather than raw stats.
