Mindless Conscription

Amass has almost always lived on creatures and instants: a stat-line stapled to a body, a burst of counters at a fixed moment. Moving the mechanic onto a static enchantment changes what it costs to maintain. The enter trigger seeds an Army, and then the card sits there, converting a routine of card draw into an army-building engine every turn you hit your third card. That draw threshold is the balancing pivot. Amass 3 twice in a turn is a serious tempo swing, but the payout is gated behind a deckbuilding tax: you have to actually generate that third draw reliably, turn after turn, which pushes the card toward dedicated card-advantage shells rather than any midrange list that happens to run black. The Army stays on a single token, so each trigger stacks onto the same growing threat rather than spreading a board wide, which makes the enchantment a source of one large, recurring clock instead of a swarm. What it represents is the shift of amass from a one-time payload into a persistent state: the counters keep coming as long as the enchantment survives and the draws keep landing, and killing the token only resets the size, not the engine. Removing the enchantment is the real answer, and until an opponent finds it, every third card of the turn quietly feeds a Zombie that will not stop growing.
