Mind Over Matter

The engine that turns the discard cost into a feature rather than a tax. The ability looks fair (spend a card to tap or untap an artifact, creature, or land), but the moment that permanent is a land, the math inverts: untap a land that taps for two or more, and you have spent one card to gain net mana, which can pay to draw the cards that refill the discard. Wired to the right mana source, the loop produces unbounded mana and arbitrarily large hands, and from there a single payoff ends the game. That is why this enchantment has spent its whole life in the combo conversation rather than the value one. It cares nothing for the body it taps and everything for the permanent that untaps for profit, which is a different design axis from almost every other "tap target" effect: those gate combat or shut off blockers, this one is a resource pump dressed as a utility ability. The six-mana commitment (with four of it blue) is the only governor on the engine: it demands a heavy blue base and asks you to already have the rest of the loop assembled before the enchantment resolves. Notably, the ability never asks the enchantment itself to tap, so it is live the instant it hits the battlefield; the constraint is not summoning sickness but whether the rest of the combo is in place. The danger is always latent in the supporting cards, never in the enchantment alone, which is the exact profile of a card built to be the last piece of a combo rather than a card you cast on curve.
