Mind Extraction

Targeted discard usually pays its cost in mana and a known card slot; this one pays in board presence, converting a creature on the battlefield into a color-matched stripping condition. The reach scales with what you feed it: sacrifice a mono-color body and you strip one color from the opponent's hand, sacrifice a gold creature and you clear two or more colors at once. What is being discarded is dictated entirely by the sacrificed creature's identity, not the spell itself, which sets up the small tension at the card's heart: a multicolor creature is worth more cashed in here than almost any single-color one, but it is also the body you would rather keep on the board. This treats color as something you can read off a permanent and turn into a payload, an axis Magic almost never touches. Most discard interrogates a card's mana cost or its text; this interrogates a creature's color line and burns the opponent's hand down by category. The catch is that it only works if the opponent is actually holding cards of those colors: against an off-color hand it whiffs entirely, so the spell rewards reading the table as much as building the sacrifice. A niche piece of color-matters discard, and a snapshot of an early-multicolor design sensibility that treated color identity as a live resource rather than a deckbuilding footnote.
